Since his second semester at HTW Dresden in media informatics Nils is working student at SaxMS. Last year he startd his masters at TU Dresden and since then he could already see connections between his work and his studies.
What are your tasks at the company?
I have a lot of different tasks in the frontend area. My main task is the Gantt diagram of our planing software. I design and develop the user interface (design, usability and user experience), from the conception to the implementation. In addition to that I do a lot of graphic work for the company, for example I designed all the flyers and the mockups for SaxMS.
How do you manage to work and study at the same time? Are there any connections?
The scheudeling of my work time is very flexible and relaxed, I can choose the times that I want to work. A lot of the thing that I learn at university I can use for my work. For example I wrote my thesis for my bachelor degree about our app “SaxMS Rail”, which I also helped developing, so the connction between work and university was immediately there.
What do you like most about your work at SaxMS
My tasks are varied and I learn something new every day. Even as a working student you get the chance work on a lot of different projects and to bring in your own ideas.
What was your best experience at SaxMS?
I personally really like that you can experience here how the company is growing and that you get to be a part of it. It is also a good feeling when I work on something and the customer uses and likes it.
What are your hobbies? What are you doing in your free time?
I like to be active in my free time. I go jogging and I ride my bike. I am also interested in technology, I like to program in my free time. I even programed a little dashboard for my apartment which shows at which times the trams leave.
