DB Innovation Contest
At the InnoTrans 2016 in Berlin, the world’s leading trade fair for rail vehicle technology, Deutsche Bahn awarded the winners of the Group-wide Open Innovation competition, DB Innovation Challenge. The competition, launched in the summer of 2015, was intended to solve specific problems with innovative products. The topic of SaxMS was “Control and individualization of the deployment planning of driving personnel”, a task in the field of individualization of deployment planning of personnel in the bill service. Saxony Media Solutions GmbH won the competition in the Small Business and StartUps category with more than 100 competing companies and is the first German SME to receive the title Deutsche Bahn Innovationsprodukt, endowed with 50,000 euros. The award was presented by Kay Euler, CTO of DB. We are very happy about this special award, which strengthens our way of working.

Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW) is a traditional Dresden-based aircraft manufacturer and currently a center for the conversion of Airbus passenger aircraft into freight and tank aircraft with associated maintenance. The subsidiary of aviation group Airbus Group also supplies Airbus with fiber composite panels for aircraft interior trim. SaxMS and EFW work together to digitize the planning and control processes at EFW.
